QUANTITATIVE TEST ACCORDING TO NF T72-281 (NOV.2014) AND PR NF T72-110 (2018) STANDARDS

Quantitative test according to NF T72-281 (Nov.2014) standard

The aim of these tests on carriers was to determine the bactericidal*, fungicidal/yeasticidal** and sporicidal*** activities of air-borne surface disinfection process in medical area, veterinary area and food and industrial areas. The test is carried out under conditions close to real use conditions in order to determine bactericidal*, fungicidal/yeasticidal** and sporicidal*** activities of non-directed processes (automatic or semi-automatic process used and without human presence) or directed processes (manual process in presence of the operator).
The disinfectant activities shall demonstrate at least respectively a 3, 4 or 5 decimal log (lg) reduction for the sporicidal***, fungicidal/yeasticidal** and for the bactericidal activities.


Directed process with or without pressure

Obligatory conditions: 1 concentration,1 contact time and clean or dirty conditions

Non-directed process

Obligatory conditions: volume (50 m3), 1 concentration, 1 contact time and clean or dirty conditions

PR NF T72-110 (2018): systems for disinfecting by applying steam vapor 

Microbicidal activities: systems for surface disinfecting by applying steam vapor with or without contact.

This method evaluates all the components of the system steam vapor on a dirty non-porous surface for medical, veterinary and industrial domains, with contact or not according to the specificity of the steam vapor system.

Medical, veterinary and industrial domains
Bactericidal activities: S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, E. hirae and E. coli
Fungicidal activity: A. brasiliensis
Yeasticidal activity: C. albicans
Mycobactericidal activities: M. terrae (medical and industrial domains) or M. avium (veterinary domain)
Sporicidal activity: B. subtilis
