Surface quantitative test

Surface quantitative assay for instruments

The aim of this test was to determine the virucidal activity of chemical disinfectant or antiseptics on carrier for medical instrument disinfection (surgical instruments, anaesthesia materials, endoscope) and veterinary ones.
The disinfectant activity shall demonstrate at least a 4 decimal log (lg) reduction.


MEDICAL DOMAIN

Adaptated protocol from PR NF EN 17111 (May.2017) and both NF EN 14476 (Jan.2017) and NF EN 14561 (mar.2017) standards
Obligatory conditions: 1 contact time, 1 temperature (20°C to 40°C) and clean and dirty conditions
Viral strains: murine norovirus, Type 5 adenovirus and murine parvovirus





VETERINARY DOMAIN

Adaptated protocol from PR NF EN 17111 (May.2017) and both NF EN 14675 (May.2015) and NF EN 14349 (dec.2012) standards
Obligatory conditions: 1 contact time, 1 temperature (20°C to 40°C) and clean and dirty conditions
Viral strains: ECBO virus, type A avian influenza virus and porcine parvovirus




Non-porous surface quantitative assay without mechanical action

The aim of this test was to determine the virucidal activity of chemical disinfectant or antiseptics on non-porous surface without mechanical action.
The disinfectant activity shall demonstrate at least a 4 decimal log (lg) reduction.

Obligatory conditions: 1 contact time (max 5 min ou 60 min) and 1 clean or dirty condition

Non-porous surface quantitative assay with mechanical action

The aim of this test was to determine the virucidal activity of a wipe on non-porous surface with mechanical action. For that, the efficiency of soaked wipe or non-soaked wipe is evaluated onto four test areas previously inoculated with test suspension of virus.

MEDICAL DOMAIN

Adaptated protocol from both NF EN 16615 (May.2015) and NF EN 14476 (Jan.2017) standards
Obligatory conditions: 1 temperature (4 to 30°C), 1 contact time (minimum 1 min, 5 min or maximum 60 min) and 1 clean or dirty condition
Viral strain: murin norovirus and type 5 adenovirus
The results shall be demonstrated at least 4 log reduction.
