Virucidal activities: Standard protocols
Airborne-based surface cleaning and disinfection process

QUANTITATIVE TEST ACCORDING TO NF T72-281 (NOV.2014) AND PR NF T72-110 (2018) STANDARDS

Quantitative test according to NF T72-281 (nov.2014)

The aim of this test was to determine the disinfectant activity of the air-borne surface disinfection process in medical area, veterinary area and food and industrial areas. The test consists in determining virucidal activities of non-directed processes (automatic or semi-automatic process used and without human presence) or directed processes (manual process in presence of the operator). The test is carried out under conditions close to real use conditions of these different processes. The disinfectant activity shall demonstrate at least a 4 decimal log (lg) reduction.

Directed process with or without pressure

Obligatory conditions: 1 concentration,1 contact time and clean or dirty conditions

Non-directed process

Obligatory conditions: volume (50 m3), 1 concentration, 1 contact time and clean or dirty conditions

NF T 72-281 Medical domain

Murine norovirus and type 5 adenovirus

NF T 72-281 Veterinary domain

Type 1 bovin enterovirus (ECBO)

NF T 72-281 Industrial domain

Murine norovirus or Lactococcus lactis P001 and P008 virus

QUANTITATIVE TEST ACCORDING TO PR NF T72-110 (2018) STANDARD

PR NF T72-110 (2018): systems for disinfecting by applying steam vapor

Virucidal activity : systems for surface disinfecting by applying steam vapor with or without contact.
This method evaluates all the components of the system steam vapor on a dirty non-porous surface for medical, veterinary and industrial domains, with contact or not according to the specificity of the steam vapor system.

Medical domain: Type 5 adenovirus and murin norovirus
Veterinary domain: Type 1 bovin enterovirus (ECBO)
Industrial domain: Lactococcus lactis virus and/or murin norovirus

Additional conditions according to standards:

- Modification of the viral strain
- Additional contact time
- Additional clean and dirty conditions
